This thread is a place for me to document things I find out as I drive and work on my 460 powered '69 Cougar.

The original installation is documented here:

Since that was written I have removed the external oil cooler. I have not noticed a change in engine temperature.

I replaced the 195 thermostat with a 180; so far no difference noted.

The FPA 'chrome' headers are a bit of a disappointment. They fit great but they are rusting badly. If I replace them I may go with the ceramic coated, but I may just wrap these if they get too ugly. Functionally they are fine, just ugly.

I took the Edelbrock carb off and replaced it with a Holley Avenger. It seems to like it much better. Strange, because I really liked the Edelbrock. I did not like the surging between 1500 and 1800 RPM that I could not tune out of it.

Yes, you can swap out the 'Bendix' power brake booster without removing the motor! I was alone when I did it, but removing the hood would have been helpful. Also remove the master cylinder and the shock tower to firewall support brace.
